Why build your own fake landscape stones and boulders when you can buy them?

Building your own landscape rocks and boulders out of concrete can be daunting task for some.  For those that prefer to keep the yellow pages in their toolbox, instead of tools, I can understand.  Sometimes it's just easier to go out and find a nice functional faux rock piece that does the trick for you without the "sweat equity" that's involved in a do-it-yourself faux stone.   That's totally cool.  So, hopefully, we can give you some ideas about the kinds of landscape stones and boulders that are available out there and some things to consider when shopping for faux landscape stones or boulders.

Faux Landscape Stones and Boulders

Fake landscape stones and boulders can be not only attractive and lightweight, but may serve a specific function, as well.  For example, maybe you have a well head that you'd like to cover.  You can also use them to cover up those unsightly utility boxes.  Whatever your reason, you'll want to take size into consideration.    For example, if you have a small outdoor faucet that you'd like to cover up, you shouldn't need that large of a hollow landscape rock.

However, if you're covering up a large utility box in your yard, you'll need to consider a much larger model. 

If your intention is decorative, you've got a very large choice.  You can get landscape rocks and boulders that have your street address numbers on them, to liven up that front flower bed and enhance your home's curb appeal.
