Arbors and Trellises

What a relaxing way to spend time in your backyard paradise than to include a gorgeous arbor?  Whether your building a winding garden path or looking for a restful place to sit and gaze at your gazing ball or sit beside your outdoor fountain. 

Arbors come in generally either wood or vinyl.  Both have their pros and cons.  Obviously, wood has that beautiful natural look such as cedar, pine or oak.  However, vinyl will withstand the elements much better than wood and will not warp over a long period of time like natural wood tends to do.

A trellis can be used against a wall to allow climbing vines or roses to make use of the "rungs" a trellis provides.  A trellis can also be used freestanding to provide the same benefits to plants or to simply help to divide a space in your backyard paradise. 

Therefore, trellises should be considered both decorative and functional.  Use a trellis to set off a particular sitting area, along with your garden bench and wind chimes.  Or, you can use your trellis, accompanied by faux landscape boulders, to define the borders of your backyard garden path.
